I am a certified sleep consultant and a proud mom of a beautiful baby daughter who inspired me to pursue my true passion! I obtained my certification through the Institute of Paediatric Sleep and Parenting, which is accredited by the American Academy of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).
I became a sleep consultant to help families. I am passionate about empowering parents and educate them on how to establish good sleep habits. I am here to listen, understand your sleep goals, and provide the emotional support you need on this journey.
My goal is to offer you effective, science-based sleep strategies, thoughtfully customized to fit your child’s unique needs. We will work hand-in-hand to craft a sleep plan that aligns perfectly with your child’s age, growth, and developmental milestones, ensuring a restful journey for both of you.
Before becoming a mom, I believed in the saying, “Sleep like a baby”. I thought babies naturally slept well and that this was a skill they were born with. I was wrong.
By the time my baby was 4 months old, she could only take naps in my arms while I sang, rocked, or nursed her to sleep. I thought this was normal, and I was willing to devote all my time to her. At night, she woke up every hour, crying, and it became increasingly difficult for her to fall asleep. I often held her for so long that I could not feel my hands, and I still believed this was the norm.
I remember the guilt, shame, and negativity I felt as a new mom. On top of it all, I was dealing with postpartum depression due to a traumatic birth and a three-month recovery. I struggled to sleep because of the physical pain and my baby’s constant crying. My relationship with my partner was under strain; despite his support, he felt helpless as he watched me suffer. He would come home from work to find me crying and our baby screaming.
I thought it was just a phase or a regression that would eventually pass. However, after four months, things got worse. I was so exhausted that I began to fall asleep while breastfeeding. That was the turning point when I realised I needed to make a change.
I started to research, listen to podcasts, and take notes from every sleep consultant I could find who offered free information. I applied what I learned to my baby. It took another month to see slight improvements, but I still did not fully understand what I was doing wrong. That is when I decided it was time for a 1:1 consultation with a sleep consultant, and it changed our lives!
The first night she slept well, I felt like I could climb a mountain and shout from the top how happy I was!
As a mother, woman, and partner, I want to emphasize that it’s not normal to lack sleep. Motherhood should not mean sacrificing your sleep.
Sleep is essential not only for your baby but for you, your family, and your overall happiness!
