Sleep training is the process of teaching your baby to fall asleep independently and you do not have to let your baby cry it out.
The goal is to help them to unlearn their existing sleep associations and develop new ones.
Falling asleep independently means that a baby can fall asleep without needing a specific action or assistance.
A child who falls asleep independently falls asleep on his own, without relaying on action such as breastfeeding, being held, or rocking to sleep.
The time it takes to see improvements in your baby’s sleep can vary depending on several factors, but parents’ consistency is key! The process depends on your perseverance and confidence.
Research indicated that sleep training does not have harmful effects and does not negatively impact the connection you establish with your baby.
Gentle sleep training involves the parent being present throughout the process, guiding the baby through this new transition in their life.
